COOPERATIVA CIFA INTERNACIONAL - Machala, Ecuador

I had a bus this evening from Montañita, Ecuador, to Mancora, Peru, with the company CIFA. When we arrived at Guayaquil station, about 3 hours south of Montañita, I was the only traveller on the bus. Only one other local person was with me. No one got on at the station and suddenly the driver got on and told me that the bus was broken but that he could get me a seat on another bus with the same company leaving now. So I get taken to the other bus, he leaves my backpack and exchanges money with the host of the bus only for me to realise that I have no seat, I'm sitting in a tiny fold down seat next to the driver and host for the next 7 hours to cross the border. The host has admitted to me that the other bus probably wasn't broken and that I was scammed. You live and learn. I've learnt not to ever use this rubbish company again.
